A little about me...

Kia ora!
My name is Juliana Treadwell and I have the privilege of being a part of the MDTA 2016 crew! During my first year of this course I will be a part of an awesome year two/three class at Tamaki Primary School with my highly knowledgeable mentor Sally Barlow. I'm super pumped for this crazy adventure and through this blog I hope you can live and learn vicariously with me and enjoy the experience as much as I am!

ORI 2016

Orientation Walk Map
Over the past couple of days the 2016 cohort of MDTA have been involved with a bunch of orientation activities to get us inspired and prepared for the year. Day one kicked off with a relaxing 12km stroll around the area in which our cluster of schools is located. From the map featured it is clear that our cluster covers a wide area and the diversity within our area is phenomenal. From this walk I learnt a lot about the history of the area and how it will effect the students within each of our classrooms. Day two consisted of getting to know the university and MDTA workload and how to attempt at preparing ourselves for a crazy full on, yet rewarding couple of years! Visits from university lecturers and past MDTA alumni gave some inspiring/terrifying insight into the demands of the program that we have committed to.... However the overall message was a positive supportive program that will enhance both student and teacher's leanring journeys.
